Michael Kors moodboard this season was inspiration from the muses of 1970's ;vintage and gravitas: Steinem, Cher, Tina Turner, Lena Horne, Ali McGraw, and Jane Fonda, along with a news clipping of Kors’s own mother Joan. The opening look, a taupe wool overcoat and sweater over chocolate brown suede shorts and boots, with a hip-hugging wide belt reissued from Kors’ 2004 collection, was all Gloria Steinem in her ’70s urban bohemian glory.

The colors were kept neutral with pops of red, dark greens and dash of camel adding to the neutral eccentricity. As said by the designer “I’m into tonal because at the end of the day, it makes everyone feel confident because they know they’re putting the right thing on. It’s easier to get dressed.”

"Sharp Tailoring "has been a trend at New York Fashion week 2023, and Michael Kors took this trend to the next level with fluid appeal.Tailoring was made to move, with cape sleeves, slashed skirts and flared pants, and chocolate brown fringed dresses added another bohemian element. The double-face cashmere overcoats were clean and oversized.

Animal prints accentutuated the bohemian vibe ; flowing in from slashed maxi dresses, double breasted overcoats, leather boots , and fringed leather handbags .

For evening, it was all about the modern mermaid, as he calls it, in sequin embroidered jersey bodysuits and tailored trousers, keyhole dresses, flared jumpsuits or fishtail gowns in daytime colors of chocolate or taupe. “Someone needs to wear this to the Oscars,” Kors said of a sequin jumpsuit under a matching camel coat.

Michael Kors as a brand appeals not only to the stars and celebrities, but his accessories and handbags , boots has a huge mass market appeal. This season saw new trends with fringes ,animal prints ; seen in dresses to bags to jackets. Michael Kors was not afraid to experiment with the stringy, Southwestern-inspired substance.

Statement belts were also an imperative aspect of Kors' collection. In one instance, a snake-printed leather belt with an enlarged silver metal clasp sits on top of a fitted brown knitted dress.

The over-the-top mineral-inspired circular necklaces are a naturalistic aspect in Kors' recognition of the '70s. Throughout his Fall/Winter 2023 collection, Michael Kors affirms his precision in styling and recalls spirited neutrals through the era of 1970.
